Invasive Plants 101: Identification and Control

Invasive Plants 101: Identification and Control

Saturday, October 22

10 AM – 3 PM

King Farm, Woodstock

Honeysuckle, barberry, and buckthorn are among some of the non-native plants that are invading Vermont’s forests! Join Women Owning Woodlands Vermont (WOW VT) and Redstart Natural Resource Management for an interactive workshop that will introduce you to these invasive plant species. You’ll spend the morning learning how to identify around 10 of the most common, and a couple not-so-common, invasive plants. In the afternoon you’ll learn different management methods and hear about a long-term project at VLT’s King Farm to restore native plants to the field and forest. We’ll wrap up the day with an opportunity to get your hands dirty testing out different techniques that you can use on your own land. Come ready to share your own tips, tricks or questions. Click here to register.
