Exemptions List from Sales and Use Tax

Vermont Woodlands supported these tax changes in its Position on Level the Playing Field.

Beginning July 1, 2017  the Vermont Legislature exempted certain logging equipment for sales and use tax. This legislation creates more equity between farm and forest enterprises and helps our forest industry upgrade and repair equipment when necessary. The fact sheet provides guidance on tax exemptions as well as the Tax Department website.
