Upcoming Event: Keeping Your Woods Healthy in an Unpredictable Future A Climate Adaptation Workshop for Forest Stewards

As Vermont’s climate continues to change, the effects on our forests are becoming more visible—and more urgent. Shifts in temperature, precipitation patterns, and the frequency of extreme weather events are all challenging the way we care for our woodlands.

Join us for a full-day workshop where we’ll explore how forest stewards—landowners, foresters, and conservation professionals—can adapt to these changes and support long-term forest resilience.

Presenters include:

  • Dr. Tony D’Amato (UVM)
  • Dr. Ali Kosiba (UVM Extension)
  • Al Freeman (VT Climate Forester)
  • VT County Foresters (VT FPR), and other regional experts!

Participants will learn:

  • How climate change is affecting forest health in Vermont
  • Strategies for climate-adaptive forest management
  • Tools, resources and real world examples to support woodland stewardship, and more!

Registration is $20 and includes a bagged lunch. Space is limited—registration is required. VT Forester CEUs available.

This workshop is offered in two locations:

  • Friday, May 16- Jericho Research Forest, Jericho, VT    Register
