Mobile Mapping 101: An Avenza Workshop

Saturday, November 12

10 AM-3 PM

401 Farm and Wilderness Rd. Plymouth, VT 05056

Are you a landowner looking for a tool to keep track of different features of your property? Or do you participate in outdoor sports like hiking, mountain biking, or cross-skiing, and need a way to find your location on a map, even without cell service? Or are you a novice Avenza user looking to learn more? Well, you’re in the right place!

If you’re interested in learning more, join us for an Avenza workshop at Farm and Wilderness, where we will be discussing how to download and use maps in Avenza, going over its most useful functions, as well as understanding how to manage and share your data with others. Don’t worry if you are a beginner, or have never even heard of Avenza, we will be starting from the very top to make sure everyone leaves feeling confident in their Avenza abilities. Some topics will include: Downloading and using georeferenced maps, creating placemarks, taking track, navigating to a point on the map, how to create a layer and organize your points, + more!

Tickets for registration are by donation, any amount you feel is appropriate. Contact Person: Kelly Beerman – kelly@farmandwilderness.org
