4th of July

This will not be a typical July 4th weekend with large family BBQs, parades, and outdoor fireworks gatherings. We do, however, hope you will find time to relax and enjoy what promises to be a beautiful weekend with sunshine and moderate temperatures. Sounds like a perfect day for a walk in the woods amid the lush green backdrop of Vermont’s woods. After 10 days in the desert southwest dealing with family health issues, I sure do appreciate having my feet on our soil again. Brown and 108 degrees is not pleasant in any world. And don’t be fooled by dry heat – so is your oven!

We had hoped that by now we would be hosting on-site events, with small walks in the woods. Your VWA board, however, has opted to err on the side of caution and continue our virtual events. Although Vermont is doing well in its COVID response, we do not want to let down our guard; nor do we want to put anyone’s health at risk. So, for now, continue to read our e-newsletter to see what’s happening online. I think we’ve been very creative in the programs we’re offering, trying to mix up times for stay-at-home and working folks, and exploring new topics. The board is also working on a virtual model for our annual meeting this fall.

As always, I would love to hear from you if you have any ideas for webinars that you’d like to see. Just drop me an email or call the office at 802-747-7900. Above all, please stay safe and well until we are on the other side of COVID-19.

All the best to you and yours.
Kathleen
